IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, JoAnn & Howard Walker are life-long residents of St. Charles Parish, currently residing in Destrehan, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, JoAnn, Howard, and their family attended the Louisiana Association for Family and Community Education at the Cypress Bend Golf Resort and Conference Center on beautiful Toledo Bend Lake in Many, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, JoAnn has been a member of the Louisiana Association for Family and Community Education for 21 years and enjoys every moment of volunteering to help others; and,
WHEREAS, JoAnn & Howard were nominated by The Happy Homemakers for the Parish Award and the State Honor; and,
WHEREAS, JoAnn & Howard along with their children Howard III, Veronica Lynn Lewing, Joh'anna Hebert-Gendron were presented with the 2001 Outstanding Family Community Education Award; and,
WHEREAS, JoAnn & Howard were named the "2001 - Great American Family"; and,
WHEREAS, JoAnn & Howard have advanced to the National Level, the winner to be announced at the Convention in Rhode Island in July 2001.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
JOANN & HOWARD WALKER
"PARISH OF PLENTY"
created in 1807 from the county of the
"German Coast", a parish of
unprecedented economic and social
development, known for its
hospitality, rural living and sporting
opportunitiesÂ… with the added
distinction of being located
on both sides of the
