Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a Construction Contract with Wainwright Construction & Maintenance, Inc. for Project No. P130103, Storm Window Retrofit - Public Works Office Building Project in the amount of $124,432.00.
Body
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by St. Charles Parish on August 20, 2013 for P130103, Storm Window Retrofit - Public Works Office Building Project; and,
WHEREAS, Campo Designs - Architects, the Architect for the Project, has reviewed the bids and recommended that the Contract be awarded to the low bidder, Wainwright Construction & Maintenance, Inc., in the amount of $124,432.00; and,
WHEREAS, the existing Public Works Office has no storm protection on the glass windows and doors. To ensure the availability for use of the Public Works Office facility immediately after a high wind event, storm protection is needed on the glass windows and doors of the Public Works Office facility; and,
WHEREAS, the construction costs for said project will be partially funded through the Federal Emergency Management Agency federal funds available to the State of Louisiana under the legislative Pre-Disaster Mitigation Competitive (PDMC) grant program. Pursuant to Legislative Pre-Disaster Mitigation Program Project #PDMC-PJ-06-LA-2012-001, the 75% Federal share in the amount of $93,324.00 is available to fund construction costs; and,
WHEREAS, A Non-Federal share of 25% of the construction costs for said project is required in the amount of $31,108.00 and will be funded with St. Charles Parish Public Works Drainage funds (Budget item # 112-420260).
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
