Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a Construction Contract with Southern Delta Construction, LLC, for Parish Project No. P080905-3B, State Project No. H.009257, Willowridge Levee Improvements - Phase I, as part of the West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee Project, in the amount of $5,785,551.00.
Body
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by St. Charles Parish on October 8, 2013, for Parish Project No. P080905-3B, State Project No. H.009257, Willowridge Levee Improvements - Phase I; and,
WHEREAS, Burk-Kleinpeter, Inc., Mark K. Roberts, P.E., the Engineer for the Project, has reviewed the bids and recommended that the Construction Contract be awarded to the lowest responsive bidder, Southern Delta Construction, LLC, in the amount of $5,785,551.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Willowridge Levee Improvements project, as part of the West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee Project, will provide flood protection to approximately 209 acres, 364 structures, and 4 miles of public streets located in the Willowridge Estates subdivision area; and,
WHEREAS, Phase I of the Willowridge Levee Improvements project consists of construction of a +5.5 elevation earthen levee via opposite cast borrow and placement of compacted embankment, a parallel crushed stone roadway, a reinforced concrete box culvert, clearing, grubbing, installation of drain lines at specific locations, placing of silt fencing, constructing ramps, fertilizing, seeding, and mulching; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2011-0257 on August 8, 2011, approved an Intergovernmental Agreement with DOTD through the Statewide Flood Control Program to provide 70% of eligible construction costs for said project.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
