RESOLUTION NO.
Title
A resolution to create the St. Charles Parish Children and Youth Planning Board.
Body
WHEREAS, Louisiana Revised Statutes, 46:1941.5 mandates that a Children and Youth Planning Board be created and established in each judicial district by resolution of the Parish Governing Authority; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of said Board is to assist in the assessment, alignment, coordination, prioritization, and measurement of all available services and programs that address the needs of children and youth; and,
WHEREAS, said law mandates the make-up of said Board and details the duties thereof; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish Council to comply with said mandate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby create and establish the St. Charles Parish Children and Youth Planning Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said Board shall be composed of the following membership:
1. One (1) member of the education community
2. One (1) member of the criminal justice community
3. One (1) member of the health care community
4. One (1) member of the social services community
5. One (1) member of the faith-based community
6. One (1) member of the business and labor community
7. One (1) member of parenting and youth organizations
8. One (1) member appointed by the Sheriff
9. One (1) member appointed by the District Attorney
10. One (1) member appointed by the District Judges
11. One (1) member appointed by the St. Charles Community Health Center Board
12. One (1) member appointed by the Parish President
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that members designated as numbers 1-7 above shall be appointed by the Parish Council and numbers 8-12 shall be appointed by the listed appointer.
