THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 11 Health & Sanitation, Article III. Open Outdoor Burning, Section 11-31. Enforcement. is hereby amended as follows:
AS WRITTEN:
Sec. 11-31. Enforcement.
The sheriff’s department shall have the authority to enforce the provisions of this article.
AS REVISED:
Sec. 11-31. Enforcement.
The sheriff’s office shall have the authority to enforce the provisions of this article. When the sheriff’s office and/or the local fire departments determine that a fire is causing a hazardous condition, the local fire departments shall have the authority to immediately take action to enter upon the premises where the fire is located, attempt to extinguish the fire, and may take the necessary action to prevent its rekindling.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
