IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Amber Alicia Ropas is a resident of Norco, Louisiana in St. Charles Parish where she lives with her mother Wendy Ropas; and,
WHEREAS, Amber will be a 2003 Graduate of Destrehan High School. After graduation she plans on attending LSU in Baton Rouge majoring in Psychology or Secondary Education; and,
WHEREAS, Amber describes herself as enthusiastic, honest and kindhearted. She acknowledges her Mom for being her best friend and role model; and,
WHEREAS, Amber has received numerous awards and recognitions, among them Vice-President of the Sacred Heart Teen Group, named to Who's Who Among America's High School Students, and Honorable Mention in the Destrehan High School Science Fair; and,
WHEREAS, Amber's hobbies and activities, to name a few: Destrehan High School Cheerleader, Member of the Beta Club, Member of the Student Council, Member of Peer Support Leaders, spending time with family, friends, boyfriend and of course shopping.
When asked why she wanted to be the next St. Charles Parish Festival Queen, Amber, who was sponsored by Senator Joel T. Chaisson, II, gave the following answer: “I would be honored to be chosen the next St. Charles Parish Queen so that I can share with the rest of our State the beauty and uniqueness of our Parish. I would also love to serve as a positive role model for the youth of our Parish.”
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
