IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Judge Edward A. Dufresne, Jr. recently was honored with his induction to the Saint Stanislaus College Hall of Fame; and,
WHEREAS, Judge Dufresne attended grades 1 - 8 at Hahnville High School and graduated from Saint Stanislaus in 1956; and,
WHEREAS, Judge Dufresne received a BBA degree in Accounting in 1960 from Loyola University and his Juris Doctor in 1963 from Loyola Law School; and,
WHEREAS, Judge Dufresne's first election to public office in January 1964 has been followed by eight additional elections with no opposition, the result being that Judge Dufresne has served continuously for over 41 years as an elected official in St. Charles Parish as Clerk of Court, District Judge and currently serving as Chief Judge of Louisiana 5th Circuit Court of Appeals; and,
WHEREAS, Judge Dufresne throughout his life and through his work has been instrumental in positive change and touched the lives of so many and enhanced their quality of life; and,
WHEREAS, Judge Dufresne has demonstrated a heritage of hard work and commitment to completing his endeavors with the honesty and integrity that he was taught by his parents and during his years attending Saint Stanislaus College; and,
WHEREAS, This heritage of living his life in a godly and dignified manner, as a man of character, has earned him this honor of being selected for the Hall of Fame; and,
WHEREAS, On behalf of the Citizens of St. Charles Parish we congratulate Judge Dufresne for achieving this milestone in his life.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer congratulations and best wishes to

for this remarkable achievement and
his many years of dedicated public service.
