Title
A resolution to designate Mr. Henry A. Smith, Jr. as the New Orleans Aviation Board Member representing St. Charles Parish.
Body
WHEREAS, by virtue of an executive agreement signed by Mayor Ernest N. Morial dated August 30, 1985, and a subsequent formal agreement signed by the Mayor on October 17, 1985, St. Charles Parish is to be represented on the New Orleans Aviation Board; and,
WHEREAS, the term of office of Mr. Henry A. Smith, Jr. currently serving as the St. Charles Parish Representative, is near its completion; and,
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council and the Parish President are desirous of having Mr. Henry A. Smith, Jr. continue as the St. Charles Parish representative on the New Orleans Aviation Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby designate Mr. Henry A. Smith, Jr. as the St. Charles Parish representative on the New Orleans Aviation Board, serving a Five (5) year term to begin July 1, 2002 and end July 1, 2007.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Honorable Ray Nagin, Mayor of New Orleans, is hereby requested to reappoint Mr. Henry A. Smith, Jr. as the St. Charles Parish representative on the New Orleans Aviation Board and the Honorable Members of the New Orleans City Council are hereby requested to confirm said appointment.
