IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Harold J. Mire, Sr. is a life-long resident of St. Charles Parish residing in New Sarpy and is the proud father of two sons, Harold, Jr., and Daryl; the proud Grandfather of four Grandsons and one Great Grandson; and,
WHEREAS, Harold attended Destrehan High School and worked for Shell for 37 years; retired 1991; and,
WHEREAS, Harold has served on the St. Charles Parish School Board, St. Charles Parish Police Jury, St. Charles Parish Housing Authority, was the Chairman of the Indigent Defender Board, and was appointed by Former President Ronald Reagan to the Selective Service Board; and,
WHEREAS, Harold is a member of the St. Charles Parish Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.), Shell Retirees Club, American Legion, Oldies but Goodies Dance and Social Club, and the Norco Senior Club; and,
WHEREAS, Harold enjoys cooking, planning parties, traveling, casinos, and playing Texas Hold'em; and,
WHEREAS, Harold is a 10 year survivor of kidney cancer and was selected King through a drawing held for the Relay for Life Survivor Celebration Dinner sponsored by Valero on February 24, 2015, at the KC Hall in Norco; and,
WHEREAS, as King, Harold will reign at this year's Relay for Life event on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Westbank Bridge Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
HAROLD J. MIRE, SR.
