RESOLUTION NO. _________
Title
A resolution to fully support the recovery efforts of St. Charles Parish due to Hurricane Katrina.
Body
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish was struck by Hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish President has declared a State of Emergency within St. Charles Parish in accordance with the Louisiana Emergency Assistance and Disaster Act; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish President has invoked all provisions of the Louisiana Emergency Assistance and Disaster Act.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby fully support the actions of the Parish President; and,
BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that we do hereby support and authorize the expenditure of all funds necessary in order to ensure the care, treatment, and recovery of all citizens victimized by this disaster, and to authorize the Administration to contract with whatever individuals are necessary to assist the citizens of St. Charles Parish.
