IN RECOGNITION

WHEREAS, Alyssa Dowouis is the daughter of Rhonda and Darren Dowouis of Raceland, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, Alyssa is a 2009 graduate of Central Lafourche High School where she was an Honor Roll Student, Girl's State Alternate, and a member of the Performing Arts Club, Student Council, Key Club, and National Society of High School Scholars; and,
WHEREAS, Alyssa participated in the dual enrollment program at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, which allowed her to experience college courses while still a high school student; and,
WHEREAS, Alyssa's future plans include pursuing a degree in Secondary Education at Nicholls State University and she is currently employed by Tiger Town Gifts in Luling; and,
WHEREAS, Alyssa was crowned Miss Queen III in the 3rd Annual Festival of Charities Pageant on April 26, 2009, at the American Legion Hall in St. Rose; and,
WHEREAS, the Festival of Charities is a non-profit organization that started in October 2007, whose goal is to celebrate the lives of many special individuals in our Community and State by showing that beauty and care have no boundaries. The organization benefits the Down Syndrome Association of Greater New Orleans, The ARC of St. Charles, and many other area charitable organizations; and,
WHEREAS, as Miss Queen, Alyssa will represent the Festival of Charities at local and parish events as well as travel the State of Louisiana to help raise awareness of the Organization's mission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
