In Recognition: Bayou River Regional Senior Olympic Games

IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Council On Aging and the St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation Department continue to perform an outstanding job of providing for the needs of the senior population of this community; and,
WHEREAS, the Council On Aging and the Parks and Recreation Department strive to promote the overall wellness of senior citizens which includes physical fitness activities, and active involvement in life, and programs designed to enhance social interaction for our people to remain vital and functioning; and,
WHEREAS, one of the programs structured to meet many of the needs of our senior population is the Senior Olympic Games which promotes their physical, mental, and social health; and,
WHEREAS, on April 2nd, 11th, 13th, 14th, 17th, 19th, 20th, 22nd, 26th, May 7th, 2002, St. Charles Parish residents, along with hundreds of competitors from across the six-parish region, will join together at several locations to display their skills in the Bayou River Regional Senior Olympic Games; and,
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council sincerely believes that this activity will foster the goals of our Parish and will encourage and uplift the spirits of our senior population.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, ON BEHALF OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH CONSOLIDATED GOVERNMENT, DO HEREBY COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE ALL ST. CHARLES PARISH PARTICIPANTS FOR THEIR ZEST FOR LIFE, AND DO HEREBY WISH THEM THE BEST IN ALL OF THEIR EVENTS IN THE BAYOU RIVER REGIONAL SENIOR OLYMPIC GAMES.
