Title
An ordinance to approve the usage of Special Revenue Fund 123, Flood Protection, to pay for electrical utilities, fuel, parish water, debris disposal, repair parts, third party repair services to include parts and labor, and other maintenance items associated with the operation of the pump stations located on the Parish's outer flood protection levee system. Parish labor associated with operation and repairs will not be paid out of the Special Revenue 123 fund.
Body
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 6137 called for a special Election to be held on, May 2, 2015 for millage proposition to levy a four (4) mills tax, on all properties subject to taxation, for the purposes of outer levee flood protection, beginning in year 2015 and ending in year 2044, for the purpose of any costs associated with construction, acquiring, maintaining, operating, extending and/or improving levees, facilities and structures associated with outer flood protection systems within the Parish; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish's Outer Levee Flood Protection system is defined and included as part of "Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana and Vicinity Hurricane Protection Project"; "West Shore Lake Pontchartrain Risk Reduction Project"; "West Bank, Louisiana and Vicinity Hurricane Protection Project", "Chief's Report- Upper Barataria Basin Louisiana" and CPRA State Master Plan; and,
WHEREAS, Pump stations associated with previously defined levee systems that pump through or over the outer levee system are as follows:
"Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana and Vicinity, Bayou Trepagnier, Cross Bayou, Engineers Canal, St. Rose Structure, Walker Structure; West Shore Lake Pontchartrain, Montz #1, Montz #2; Upper Barataria Basin Louisiana Chief's Report and CPRA State Master Plan, Willdowdale, Willowridge, Cousins, Kellogg, Ellington; Magnolia, Sunset."
