IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Gary "Buddy" Boe is a native of St. John the Baptist Parish, residing in LaPlace, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, Buddy is the Outreach Coordinator for the Louisiana SuperRegion Rail Authority and in 2015, was named a Louisiana Certified Economic Developer. He serves as Chairman of the National Association of Counties NextGen Network, Secretary of the Garyville Timbermill Museum Association, Board member of the St. John United Way, and sits on both the World Trade Center Transportation Committee and GNO Inc.'s NextGen Council; and,
WHEREAS, Buddy has participated in the Loyola Institute of Politics, New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute, Young Leadership Council Leadership Development Series, Bryan Bell Metropolitan Leadership Forum, and was chosen as the LaPlace Rotary Citizen of the Year. He is an alumni and sponsor of the Emerging Philanthropists of New Orleans and an active member of the Louisiana Industrial Executives Association; and
WHEREAS, Buddy participated in the Delta Regional Authority Leadership Institute, Norman C. Francis Leadership Institute, HIVE/Change.org Global Young Leaders Program, the National Association of Counties Leadership Institute, and was named the 2014 Millenial Changemaker in South Louisiana. He is currently completing his Masters of Public Administration and has been accepted into Loyola Law School; and,
WHEREAS, Buddy was appointed as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for St. Charles Parish by former Parish President V.J. St. Pierre, Jr., on January 3, 2013; and,
WHEREAS, Buddy built a more cooperative relationship between the Council and Administration during his tenure as CAO; he was instrumental in building the financing package for the construction of a complete flood protection system; worked tirelessly to pass the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act t...
