IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Norco holds a prominent place in the State of Louisiana and the United States as an outstanding Organization located in Norco, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Norco is a member of the International Association of Lions Clubs and was chartered on December 5, 1940, and has currently 37 active members; and,
WHEREAS, the mission of the Lions Club of Norco is to create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs; and,
WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Norco provides voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation; and,
WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Norco helps provide eye exams, eyeglasses, and eye surgery for the needy through its association with the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation; and,
WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Norco sponsors disabled children and youth at the Louisiana Lions Camp each summer in Leesville, Louisiana, in addition to other community activities; and,
WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Norco raises money through its Cans for Sight Aluminum Recycling Program, its food booths at the Destrehan Plantation Fall Festival, and its annual golf tournament, which will be held this year on April 20, 2002, at Ormond Country Club.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY RECOGNIZE
THE LIONS CLUB OF NORCO
"PARISH OF PLENTY"
created in 1807 from the county of the
"German Coast", a parish of

development, known for its
hospitality, rural living and sporting
opportunitiesÂ… with the added
distinction of being located
on both sides of the
