Title
An ordinance authorizing and accepting a Professional Services Agreement for St. Charles Parish to conduct modeling and a flood insurance map appeal for the west bank of St. Charles Parish, LAMP FEMA Challenge SCP Project # LAMP-OO1.
Body
WHEREAS, in an effort to recognize levees, flood control structures, and other topographic features to produce accurate flood maps that maintain affordable flood insurance, St. Charles Parish was selected as a PILOT jurisdiction by FEMA to participate in the Levees Analysis and Mapping Procedures (LAMP) program; and,
WHEREAS, the agreement with Lonnie G. Harper & Associates, Inc. was authorized by the St. Charles Parish Council in Ordinance #15-9-9 expired on June 30, 2017; and,
WHEREAS, FEMA does not have a contractor in place and has not had one for nearly one year to evaluate and advise our modelling efforts; and,
WHEREAS, without a FEMA contractor the project has taken longer than originally anticipated; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish wishes to sign a new contract Lonnie G. Harper & Associates, Inc. for one year at the same price with the same conditions to complete the originally contracted work.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Professional services agreement for St. Charles Parish to conduct modeling and a flood insurance map appeal for the west bank of St. Charles Parish is hereby authorized and accepted.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
And the ordinance was declared adopted this day of , 2017, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
