Title
A resolution strongly requesting the Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development install a signal light at the intersection of Airline Drive (LA 61) and St. Rose Avenue (LA 626), St. Rose.
Body
WHEREAS, new development in the St. Rose area has increased traffic; and,
WHEREAS, more new development is planned, approved and will further compound existing traffic conditions; and,
WHEREAS, during peak traffic periods and vehicles traveling at high rates of speed make it dangerous for vehicles turning west onto Airline Highway; and,
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development has a responsibility to protect the citizens from hazardous driving conditions by installing a signal light that would reduce the potential for accidents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL do hereby strongly request that the Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development install a signal light at the intersection of Airline Drive (LA 61) and St. Rose Avenue (LA 626), St. Rose.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Governor Bobby Jindal, Department of Transportation & Development Secretary Mr. William Ankner, Department of Transportation & Development Traffic Operations Engineer Mr. Steve Strength, Department of Transportation & Development District Administrator Mr. Michael Stack, Department of Transportation & Development Legislative Liaison Mr. Roy Quezaire, Senator Joel T. Chaisson, II, Representative Gary L. Smith, Jr., and Representative Ernest D. Wooton asking their assistance in this regard.
