Title
An ordinance to amend the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 4 Animals and Fowl, to increase the animal adoption fee from $30.00 to $60.00.
Body
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Humane Society has requested that the Parish increase the animal adoption fee in order for the Society to provide additional services prior to the adoption of animals; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish Council to approve said change.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 4 Animals and Fowl, Article IV, Impoundment, Adoption, Section 4-46 Adoption of impounded animals, (d) is hereby amended by deleting the third sentence and replacing it with the following:
"The designated administrative department may collect a fee of not more than sixty dollars ($60.00) for the adoption of an animal, a portion of which shall include the cost of rabies inoculation as provided for in subsections (b) and (c) of this section."

And the ordinance was declared adopted this day of , 2002, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
