IN   RECOGNITION
WHEREAS,      it has been more than a year since Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast; and,
WHEREAS,      immediately after the event a representative of State Farm Insurance came to the Emergency Operations Center inquiring as to what was necessary to set up a catastrophe center in St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS,      this center became the largest catastrophe center in the history of State Farm; and,
WHEREAS,      this center employed nearly 1,500 people servicing not only St. Charles Parish residents but residents of the entire Metropolitan New Orleans area; and,
WHEREAS,      a residual of this center was that St Charles Parish stores, restaurants and other local businesses received a financial boost at a time when it was desperately needed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
 
STATE FARM INSURANCE
 
AND COMMEND THEM ON A JOB WELL DONE AND OFFER OUR GRATITUDE ON BEHALF OF THE CITIZENS AND BUSINESSES OF ST. CHARLES PARISH
