RESOLUTION NO. 5771
Title
A resolution requesting the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to install left turning signals on Barton Avenue (LA 3060) and Lakewood Drive onto Highway 90 to protect the residents and those traveling through the area.
Body
WHEREAS, LA 3060 is a very heavily traveled roadway used by industry, residents, and school buses; and,
WHEREAS, the West Bank Regional Library is located on Lakewood Drive and is used by all age groups and especially school children during the summer and school year; and,
WHEREAS, the increase in traffic turning east and west, crossing over a major thoroughfare of on-going traffic creates the potential for a dangerous situation.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development install left turning signals on Barton Avenue (LA 3060) and Lakewood Drive onto Highway 90 to protect the residents and those traveling through the area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be forwarded to Governor Bobby Jindal, Senator Joel T. Chaisson, II, Representative Gary L. Smith, Jr., Representative Ernest D. Wooton, Department of Transportation & Development Secretary Sherri LeBas, and Department of Transportation & Development District Administrator Mike Stack asking their assistance in this regard.
