Title
An ordinance to re-introduce, re-evaluate and re-visit the Comprehensive Land Use Plan for St. Charles Parish adopted on the 13th day of August 1990.
Body
WHEREAS, it is approaching a decade since the Land Use Plan has been reviewed by the Parish Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission; and,
WHEREAS, in order to maintain and improve the quality of life for the citizens of St. Charles Parish, it is important that the Parish review and update the Plan as quickly as possible to develop a Strategic Plan for Business Growth, Residential Areas, and Free Trade Zones; and
WHEREAS, it is time to bring the Land Use Plan inline with the Strategic Plan.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Comprehensive Land Use Plan for St. Charles Parish adopted on the 13th day of August 1990 be re-introduced, re-evaluated and re-visited.
SECTION II That the Parish Council establishes a five (5) Member committee to complete this task of bringing the Land Use Plan in line with the Strategic Plan in six months starting February 1, 2004, with the Committee Members composed of the following:
§ Two (2) citizens: one from the east bank and one from the west bank recommended by the Councilmen At Large
§ One (1) member from the Parish Council recommended by the Parish Council
§ One (1) member from the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission
§ One (1) member from the Administration - recommended by the Parish President
All Members will be confirmed by the Parish Council by a simple majority vote.

And the ordinance was declared adopted this day of , 2003 , to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
