Title
An ordinance to provide for the installation of "Four-Way Stop" signs at the intersection of Stanton Hall Drive and Carriage Lane in Destrehan.
Body
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Chapter 15 Motor Vehicles and Traffic provides for the installation of traffic control signs; and,
WHEREAS, the four-way intersection of Stanton Hall Drive and Carriage Lane, as originally created, has "Three-Way Stop" signs with the northern stub out of Carriage Lane without a "Stop" sign; and,
WHEREAS, the creation of Belle Ormond Subdivision utilizes the aforementioned stub-out as its only access to the subdivision; thereby creating a large increase of vehicular traffic entering the intersection and is unregulated by the "Three-Way Stop"; and,
WHEREAS, the installation of "Four-Way Stop" signs will significantly reduce the possibility of accidents at this intersection by regulating vehicular traffic entering the intersection; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish Council to authorize the installation of "Four-Way Stop" signs at the intersections of Stanton Hall Drive and Carriage Lane in Destrehan.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That there are hereby established "Four-Way Stop" signs at the intersections of Stanton Hall Drive and Carriage Lane in Destrehan.
SECTION II. That the Department of Public Works is hereby authorized to erect and maintain said "Four-Way Stop" signs.
