Title
An ordinance to rename undeveloped Cedar Lane in Boutte to Cedar Street.
Body
WHEREAS, a sign saying "Cedar Lane" marks an undeveloped street that provides access to one dwelling unit,"; and,
WHEREAS, the plat titled Magnolia Ridge Park Subdivision by E. M. Collier, PLS dated July 29, 1957 indicates that the name of the undeveloped street was named Cedar Street; and,
WHEREAS, this discrepancy is causing a delay in the delivery of some services to the property owner; and,
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council wishes to ensure that service providers can locate the property.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the undeveloped street shown on the plat titled Magnolia Ridge Park Subdivision currently marked "Cedar Lane" is hereby named "Cedar Street".
SECTION II. That a copy of this ordinance be sent to the St. Charles Parish Communications District, the St. Charles Parish Planning Department, and the U.S. Postal Service.
SECTION III. That the Parish Administration be directed to install the proper street sign to mark the undeveloped street.
SECTION IV. If any word, clause, phrase, section or other portion of this ordinance shall be declared null, void, invalid, illegal or unconstitutional, the remaining words, clauses, phrases, sections and other portions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect, the provisions of this ordinance hereby being declared to be severable.
SECTION V. That the adoption of this ordinance shall not affect the status of any private or public streets, regarding maintenance or any other public facilities or services, and is for identification purposes only.
