RESOLUTION NO. 5313 _
Title
A resolution requesting the assistance and support of the Louisiana Congressional and Legislative Delegation on the establishment of adequate flood protection for the Sunset Drainage District.
Body
WHEREAS, as District IV Councilman, representing the Sunset Drainage District, I firmly believe that the establishment of adequate flood protection will benefit the citizens of Des Allemands, Paradis, and Bayou Gauche in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, as District IV Councilman I am requesting our Congressional and Legislative Delegations assistance in promoting and/or funding this project as outlined in the Flood Protection Upgrading Plan for the Sunset Drainage District dated November 10, 2005.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request the assistance and support of the Louisiana Congressional and Legislative Delegation on this priority project for the Sunset Drainage District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution and attached correspondence be distributed to Senator Mary Landrieu, Senator David Vitter, Representative Bobby Jindal, Representative Charlie Melancon, Senator Joel T. Chaisson, II, Representative Gary L. Smith, Jr., and Representative Ernest D. Wooton.
