ORDINANCE NO. 08-6-9
Title
An ordinance to amend the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 2, Administration, Section 2-12. Qualification based selection procedures for the procurement of architects and engineers to repeal said section excluding Special Provisions IV (a).
Body
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of St. Charles Parish that the Elected Officials responsible for the conduct of Parish affairs be empowered to select architects and engineers for all Parish projects; and,
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Home Rule Charter has vested Executive Authority in its Chief Executive Officer, the Parish President and Legislative Authority in its Governing Authority the Parish Council; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish President and the Parish Council, the Officials elected to represent the people of St. Charles Parish, to assume their respective responsibilities.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 2, Administration, Section 2-12. Qualification based selection procedures for the procurement of architects and engineers, Section I., II., III., IV.(b)-(d), V., VI., VII., and VIII. be and are hereby repealed.
SECTION II. That Section IV. Special Provisions (a), shall remain as written and be renumbered from Section IV.(a) to Section I.(a) with the exception of deleting review panel and adding Parish President.
SECTION III. That there is hereby added a Section I.(b) to read as follows:
(b) Any contract for consulting engineering or architectural services which would result in an engineering or architectural fee in an amount of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) or more shall be awarded by ordinance of the Parish Council.
