Title
A resolution appointing a member to the River Parishes Transit Authority.
Body
WHEREAS, there exists a vacancy on the RIVER PARISHES TRANSIT AUTHORITY; due to the resignation of Mr. Emile Broussard, III on February 1, 2026; and,
WHEREAS, by virtue of R.S. 48:1604, the Governing Authority shall appoint one member from a list of three nominees submitted by the St. Charles Business Association, one nominee submitted by the River Area Council of the New Orleans Regional Chamber of Commerce, and three nominees submitted by the Louisiana AFL-CIO; and,
WHEREAS, said commissioner must be domiciled within St. Charles Parish and shall be subject to confirmation by the Senate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby confirm that is hereby appointed to the RIVER PARISHES TRANSIT AUTHORITY.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said appointment shall be effective IMMEDIATELY and shall expire JANUARY 9, 2028.
