Proclamation: "National Night Out"

P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) sponsors annually, a unique, nationwide crime, drug, and violence prevention program entitled "National Night Out"; and,
WHEREAS, "National Night Out" is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live; and,
WHEREAS, "National Night Out" provides a unique opportunity for St. Charles Parish to join forces with thousands of other communities across the country in promoting cooperative police-community crime and drug prevention efforts; and,
WHEREAS, "National Night Out" is a year-long community building campaign designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support and participation in local anticrime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals informing them that neighborhoods are organized and are fighting back; and,
WHEREAS, it is essential that all citizens of St. Charles Parish be aware of the importance of crime prevention programs and impact that their participation can have on reducing crime, drugs, and violence in St. Charles Parish.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY CALL UPON ALL CITIZENS OF ST. CHARLES PARISH TO JOIN THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE IN SUPPORTING "NATIONAL NIGHT OUT" ON OCTOBER 21, 2025.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM TUESDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2025 FROM 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM AS
"NATIONAL NIGHT OUT IN ST. CHARLES PARISH"
