IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, the Town of Norco is located on the East Bank of St. Charles Parish and on November 6, 1996, nine of its citizens decided that an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in Norco and giving its citizens a better voice in deciding their future was needed. Hence, on November 7, 1996, the Norco Civic Association was formed; and,
WHEREAS, the Norco Civic Association's mission is to provide the people of Norco a unified voice to address the various concerns of the community, promote issues that will bring about improvements in the Community, Parish, State, and Nation, and pursue and advance the objectives that are necessary to improve the quality of life for the people of Norco; and,
WHEREAS, the Norco Civic Association promotes the improvement and upkeep of its infrastructure, the safety and well-being of all residents, volunteerism and community service, community and recreational improvements, togetherness between all residents of our Parish, promotes living and working together with local businesses and industrial complexes, and living and working together with all branches of government; and,
WHEREAS, the Norco Civic Association has been successful because of the support from its citizens, industries, business, state and parish government.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to

NORCO CIVIC ASSOCIATION

COMMENDING THEM ON BEING A MODEL ASSOCIATION AND FOR THEIR NUMEROUS ACCOMPLISHMENTS SINCE INCEPTION
"PARISH OF PLENTY"
created in 1807 from the county of the
"German Coast", a parish of
unprecedented economic and social
development, known for its
hospitality, rural living and sporting
opportunities… with the added
distinction of being located
on both sides of the
