IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Mrs. Melanie Worrall and her husband Roy are residents of Luling, Louisiana in St. Charles Parish and are the proud parents of two daughters; Avera and Allie; and,
WHEREAS, Melanie is a Public Information Videographer contracted by St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, NACIO, established in 1966, is a National network of professionals from County Public Information Offices and State Associations of Counties who promotes more effective communication between Counties and Citizens, promotes public understanding of the functions of county government, promotes better understanding between the public and its elected officials, strives to improve the professional capabilities of its members, and supports the programs and policies of the National Association of County Officials (NACo); and,
WHEREAS, NACIO holds an Awards of Excellence Competition annually, which is a contest that provides Public Sector Employees the opportunity to compete against their peers from across the Nation and to be honored for their outstanding efforts to inform, educate, inspire, and entertain. All projects entered are eligible to win Superior, Excellent, and Meritorious awards; and,
WHEREAS, at the 2009 Awards of Excellence Competition, Melanie received Meritorious in the Audiovisual Productions, Public Service Announcements Category for "Toy Fund Christmas Poem" and she assisted Mrs. Renee A. Simpson with "Hurricane Gustav 2008" which received a Meritorious award in Audiovisual Productions, DVD Category.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer congratulations and recognition to
