Title
A resolution in support of the St. Charles Parish application to the Louisiana Office of State Parks, Division of Outdoor Recreation, for a grant to fund the Continued Development of Rathborne Park in Luling, Louisiana.
Body
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish is interested in developing outdoor recreational facilities at Rathborne Park in Luling, for the enjoyment of the citizenry of said parish and the State of Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, said project includes: trail, parking lot, and baseball fields lighting, a restroom and concessions stand building, a baseball field with bleachers, a basketball court, fitness stations, a 40 ft. pavilion, 2 picnic tables, 2 water fountains, 2 benches, 2 bike racks, a north-south pathway, and design fees; and,
WHEREAS, all wiring covered in said project, or wiring done in the future on site, will be placed underground; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish is submitting a grant application for funding from the Land and Water Conservation Fund, through the Louisiana Office of State Parks, Division of Outdoor Recreation; and,
WHEREAS, the Land and Water Conservation Fund application requires a resolution of support from the local governing body; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish has obligated cash matching funds of $250,000.00 in the 2012 Parish Budget to satisfactorily complete the project and thus become eligible for Land and Water Conservation Fund financial aid in the amount of $250,000.00 or 50% of the total estimated project cost of $500,000.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby approve of and authorize the submission of an application to the Louisiana Office of State Parks, Division of Outdoor Recreation, to seek federal financial assistance for the Continued Develo...
