IN   RECOGNITION

WHEREAS,                     on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at approximately 7:00 pm, the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a call that a dog was tossed out of a vehicle over the guard rail on the elevated portion of I-310 Southbound in St. Rose, Louisiana; and,

WHEREAS,                     the female pit bull, nicknamed “Ally Gator”, was tossed more than 30 feet over the rail and was left to drown in the swamp below; she struggled in the water for about an hour before being rescued and taken to the St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter where she was treated for two puncture wounds believed to be from the bite of an alligator and for a serious skin infection which probably existed prior to the incident; and,

WHEREAS,                     “Ally” was recovered by members of the St. Rose Volunteer Fire Department who climbed down and rescued her from a small piece of land or marshy grass in the swamp below the interstate and carried her up the ladder to safety; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this recognition for rescuing “Ally Gator” to the
