Title
A resolution to approve and authorize the execution of a Federally Funded Agreement between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and St. Charles Parish for funding in the amount of $79,746.00 to purchase two tethered drones for emergency operations.
Body
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish submitted an application seeking Federal assistance from the United States Department of Homeland Security to purchase two tethered drones through the FY 2025 Port Security Grant Program (PSGP); and,
WHEREAS, by letter dated September 27, 2025, Ms. Stacey Street, Deputy Assistant Administrator, Grants Program Directorate of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, advised that the St. Charles Parish PSGP application was selected for funding in the amount of $79,746.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Grant Agreement awards Federal funds to finance 75% of the estimated project cost, up to $79,746.00, with St. Charles Parish providing the 25% local share of $26,582.00; and,
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has prepared the necessary Grant Agreement to provide funding for said project, and it is the desire of the Parish Council to approve said Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby approve and authorize the execution of a Grant Agreement between the United States Department of Homeland Security and St. Charles Parish for funding in the amount of $79,746.00 for the purchase of two tethered drones.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Agreement and to act on behalf of St. Charles Parish in all matters pertaining to this project.
