Title
An ordinance to amend the St. Charles Parish Code to adjust the Service Charge for Recycling Collection Services for St. Charles Parish.
Body
WHEREAS, the Curbside Recycling Agreement for St. Charles Parish mandates that adjustments be made each year to the monthly service charge based on the Consumer Price Index; and,
WHEREAS, the monthly service charge increased effective June 1, 1997, from $1.77 per month to $1.82 per month; and,
WHEREAS, the recycling fee has not been adjusted since June 1, 1996; and,
WHEREAS, in order to cover the cost of the recycling program, an eleven cents ($.11) adjustment is necessary.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That Chapter 10, Article IV, Section 10-47.(1) of the St. Charles Parish Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(1) A monthly service charge of one dollar and eighty-eight cents ($1.88) per month is hereby established and levied for each unit within the Parish, as defined in the Parish's Recycling Contract, effective February 1, 2000."
