IN   RECOGNITION
 
WHEREAS,      Barbara Forshag is a teacher at Eual J. Landry Middle School in Hahnville; and,
WHEREAS,      Barbara has dedicated her professional career to the advancement and enrichment of education; and,
WHEREAS,       Barbara was the first teacher in St. Charles Parish to achieve National Board for Professional Teaching Standard Certification, and;
WHEREAS,      Barbara continuously and unselfishly shares her teaching gifts with other teachers throughout the world, and,
WHEREAS,      Barbara has served as State Advisor for the Junior Beta Honor Society which promotes academic excellence and altruistic involvement, and;
WHEREAS,      Barbara has been a motivating force and a positive role model for teachers, and;
WHEREAS,      Barbara has been a tireless crusader for the well being of the many students whose lives she has touched, and;
WHEREAS,      Barbara has been chosen as the State of Louisiana's 2001 Teacher of the Year.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to

created in 1807 from the county of the
"German Coast", a parish of
unprecedented economic and social
development, known for its
 hospitality, rural living and sporting
opportunitiesÂ… with the added
distinction of being located
