The Parish of St. Charles
IN MEMORIAM
WHEREAS, the Almighty God, in His Infinite Wisdom, has seen fit to call from among us one of our beloved citizens; and,

WHEREAS, words cannot adequately express or convey the sorrow felt by all of us for the loss of our fellow citizen, the members of the Parish Council and the Parish President wish to reflect a moment on the life of Mr. Richard "Warren" Landry, Sr.; and,

WHEREAS, Warren Landry was a life long resident of St. Charles Parish and an active member of the community who supported continuous improvement in the quality of life for our residents; and,

WHEREAS, Warren Landry served as a member of the St. Charles - St. John Bridge and Ferry Authority from November 1964 to September 1971; and,

WHEREAS, Warren Landry served as Vice-Chairman of the Louisiana Board of Highways, having been appointed by Governor Edwin Edwards in 1972; and,

WHEREAS, Warren Landry was elected as the first Councilman-At-Large for Division A and served in office from June 2, 1980 to January 8, 1984; and,

WHEREAS, Warren Landry served as the Assistant Commissioner of Administration for the State of Louisiana having been appointed by Governor Edwin Edwards in March of 1984; and,

WHEREAS, Warren Landry served as a member of the South Louisiana Port Commission, having been appointed on January 12, 1987 by Governor Edwin Edwards, by Parish President Albert D. Laque in 1988 and by Governor Edwin Edwards again in 1992; and,

WHEREAS, we the members of the Parish Council and the Parish President wish to posthumously honor Warren Landry as an outstanding and dedicated Public Servant of the Parish of St. Charles.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, duly assembled on this 18th day of December, 2000, do hereby express our sincere sympathy to the family of
