Title
An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of Change Order No. Two (2), for the Killona Lift Station and Force Main Project to increase the contract time by 71 days.
Body
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 99-9-9 adopted September 7, 1999 by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of a contract with Allen & LeBlanc, L.L.C., for the construction Killona Lift Station and Force Main Project in the amount of $858,734.50; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 00-10-11 adopted October 9, 2000 by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of Change Order No. One to increase the contract amount by $10, 205.62 and to increase the contract time by 14 calendar days.
WHEREAS, the installation of 480-volt, three-phase power at the Killona Lift Station, required for operation of the pumps at the station, delayed the Contractor, through no fault of his own, 71 days in meeting the requirements for substantial completion.
WHEREAS, it is necessary to increase the contract time by 71 days to reflect the delay in obtaining 480-volt power at this station.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, THAT WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby approve and authorize the execution of Change Order No. Two (2) to the contract for the Killona Lift Station and Force Main Project and to increase the contract time by 71 days.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. Two to the contract.
