An ordinance to increase the per diem by amending Ordinance No. 94-9-14 which established and provided a per diem to be paid to the Members of the Community Action Advisory Board, a non-civil Service Board.

WHEREAS, the Community Services Block Grant clearly stipulates the Community Action Agency must have a Board of Directors to operate; and,
WHEREAS, the Board shall serve to assist the Community Action Agency in identifying the needs in the Parish; and,
WHEREAS, the Board shall help to mobilize and utilize resources, public or private, in an attack on poverty.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the per diem to be paid to the Member or his/her alternate attending the meetings on behalf of the Member of the Community Action Advisory Board shall be increased to sixty dollars ($60.00) for each meeting attended to a maximum of twelve (12) meetings per year; notwithstanding the provisions of this Ordinance, Council Members seated on the Community Action Advisory Board shall not be entitled to said per diem.
SECTION II. That the per diem hereby established shall be effective April 1, 2007.
