Title
A resolution appropriating Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) to the Louisiana Regional Airport Authority.
Body
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Airport Authority was created by Act 508 of the 1992 Louisiana Legislature and charged with locating land for and building a state-of-the-art international airport and multi-modal transportation center between New Orleans and Baton Rouge; and,
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council recognizes the vast economic development potential of an international airport and multi-modal transportation center in term of taxes generated and permanent jobs created for St. Charles Parish, as well as the State of Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Airport Authority plans to locate and operate an office in the River Parishes and is seeking monetary assistance from the River Parish Governments to achieve this end.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby appropriate Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) to the Louisiana Regional Airport Authority for the day to day operations of its office in the River Region.
