Title
An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of Change Order No. 1 for Project No. P080905-3B, Willowridge Levee - Phase I, State Project No.H.009257, as part of the West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee Project, to increase the contract amount by $214,600.00 and increase the contract time by ninety (90) days.
Body
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 13-11-6, adopted November 18, 2013, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of a contract with Southern Delta Construction, LLC for Project No. P080905-3B, Willowridge Levee - Phase I, State Project No.H.009257, in the amount of $5,785,551.00; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 is a result of a change within the scope of the contract to increase the elevation of the levee from +5.5' elevation to +7.5' elevation; and,
WHEREAS, current construction activities have revealed that there is less unsuitable organic material on the construction site than previously anticipated, resulting in additional suitable levee embankment material available for levee construction at the levee location. This additional material must be hauled to the staging area and handled again at a later date, if the +7.5' levee elevation is not constructed at this time; and,
WHEREAS, the increase in contract amount of $214,600.00 is a result of the increase in five (5) bid line items; and,
WHEREAS, the increase in contract time by ninety (90) days is a result of additional days projected to construct the Willowridge Levee to +7.5' elevation.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS,
SECTION I. That Change Order No. 1 for Project No. P080905-3B, Willowridge Levee - Phase I, State Project No.H.009257, as part of the West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee Project, to increase the contract amount by $214,600.00 and increase the contract time by ninety (90) days is hereby approved an...
