Title
An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of Change Order No. Three (3) for Ama Lift Station and Force Main Project to increase the contract time by 32 days.
Body
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 99-9-8 adopted September 7, 1999 by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of a contract with D&O Contractor, Inc. for the construction of the Ama Lift Station and Force Main Project in the amount of $1,538,117.30; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 99-12-11 adopted December 6, 1999 by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of Change Order No. 1 to allow the contractor to used directional drilling in lieu of open-cut technique at no additional cost to the owner or increase in contract time; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 00-10-12 adopted October 10, 2000 by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of Change Order No. 2 to decrease the contract amount by $4,313.51 and to increase the contract time by 16 calendar days.
WHEREAS, the installation of 480 volt, three phase power at the Ama Lift Station, required for operation of the pumps at the station, delayed the Contractor, through no fault of his own, 32 days in meeting the requirements for substantial completion.
WHEREAS, it is necessary to increase the contract time by 32 days to reflect the delay in obtaining 480 volt power at this station.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, THAT WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby approve and authorize the execution of Change Order No. Three (3) to the contract for the Ama Lift Station and Force Main Project and to increase the contract time by 32 calendar days.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute this Final Change Order to the contract.
