Title
A resolution asking the Parish Council to support forwarding a letter for an opinion from the Attorney General regarding Council Rule 31, reconsideration of a vote.
Body
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Home Rule Charter, Article IV, Ordinances and Resolutions, provides for the enactment of an Ordinance and the submission of ordinances and resolutions to the Parish President; and,
WHEREAS, presently under Council Rule 31 a vote may be reconsidered at any time during the same meeting, or at the next regular or special meeting. A motion for reconsideration having been rejected shall not be reconsidered. A motion that has been rejected may be renewed at a future meeting; and,
WHEREAS, under the proposed revision of Rule 31 a vote on an Ordinance or a Resolution may be reconsidered at any time during the same meeting. A vote on a matter, other than an Ordinance or Resolution, may be reconsidered at any time during the same meeting, or at the next regular or special meeting.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby support forwarding a letter for an opinion from the Attorney General regarding Council Rule 31, reconsideration of a vote.
