ORDINANCE NO.                   

Title

An ordinance dedicating the 3/8% and 1/2% sales and use taxes above the average collected over the past five years, excluding funds required to pay debt services, be earmarked under Capital Projects for Pump Stations for Hurricane Protection Levees only.

Body

WHEREAS,      sales and use tax collections since Hurricane Katrina and Rita have exceeded projections; and,

WHEREAS,      it is the desire of the Parish Council to dedicate said sales and use tax to Pump Stations for Hurricane Protection Levees.

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION I.      That all 3/8% and 1/2% sales and use taxes collected, above the average collected over the past five years, is hereby dedicated to Capital Projects for Pump Stations for Hurricane Protection Levees.

The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
