Title
A resolution designating a member of the St. Charles Parish Council as an Ex-Officio, non-voting member of the St. Charles Hospital Board.
Body
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Home Rule Charter provides in Article III, Section 4a, that the Parish Council shall designate that one of its members shall serve as Ex-Officio, non-voting member of the Planning and Zoning Commission; and,
WHEREAS, in 1983 the members of the St. Charles Parish Council determined that one of its members should serve as an Ex-Officio, non-voting member of the St. Charles Housing Authority; and,
WHEREAS, changes which have occurred in the hospital industry, in particular public hospital failures, closures and mergers, warrant that the Parish Council should monitor the activities of the Hospital Board to protect the public interest in St. Charles Parish.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL do hereby designate a member of the St. Charles Parish Council as an Ex-Officio, non-voting member of the St. Charles Hospital Board.
