A resolution supporting the requests to Cox Cable to provide coverage of Odyssey Network on a full time basis in the Parish of St. Charles.
Body
WHEREAS, presently Odyssey is on Cox Cable Television System for 12 hours per day from 7 pm to 7 am on Channel 48 in Orleans, Jefferson and St. Charles Parishes; and,
WHEREAS, many citizens would like for Odyssey to be presented for the full 24 hours each day as it is on over 1500 other systems throughout the nation; and,
WHEREAS, Odyssey Network has clearly established itself as a better, wholesome, clean, FAMILY television; and,
WHEREAS, Odyssey provides the best of the best in complete family entertainment; and,
WHEREAS, it is important that the management of Cox know that our churches, our schools, our citizens AND our civic leaders want to have a network of unprecedented family quality entertainment on a daily basis; and,
WHEREAS, Cox has received letters from members of the religious community asking Cox to provide Odyssey on a full time basis; and,
WHEREAS, of special note, the Archbishop of the New Orleans Catholic Diocese has
asked Cox to provide Odyssey on a full time basis.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL do hereby fully support the many requests to Cox asking that Odyssey Network be moved to full time status.

The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
And the resolution was declared adopted this day of , 1999, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
