Title
An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of a Contract with Byron E. Talbot Contractor, Inc., for the construction of the Lakewood Dr. Reconstruction, State Project No. H.014051, Federal Aid Project No. H014051, extending from East/West Heather Dr. to Highway 90 in the amount of $5,979,591.63.
Body
WHEREAS, on September 23, 2019, the St. Charles Parish Council approved Ordinance No. 19-9-6 to authorize an Engineering Services Contract with Shread-Kuyrkendall & Associates, Inc. for the design of Parish Project No. P190201, Lakewood Drive Reconstruction; and,
WHEREAS, on January 11, 2021, the St. Charles Parish Council approved Ordinance No. 21-1-1 to authorize an Agreement with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), for Parish Project No. P190201 Lakewood Drive Reconstruction State Project No. H.014051, Federal Aid Project No. H014051; and,
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD) opened bids on February 8, 2023, for said project; and,
WHEREAS, on February 8, 2023, the LaDOTD requested the Parish review the bids and respond with the Parish's wishes for the award of the contract to the low bidder, Byron E. Talbot Contractor, Inc.; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish submitted a response on February 10, 2023, expressing agreement with the award of said project to said low bidder; and,
WHEREAS, the LaDOTD has prepared a contract between the Parish and Byron E. Talbot Contractor, Inc. for said project; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish Council to approve said contract.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the contract between the Parish of St. Charles and Byron E. Talbot Contractor, Inc., for the Lakewood Dr. Reconstruction, State Project No. H.014051, Federal Aid Project No. H014051, is hereby approved and accepted in the amount of $5,979,591.63.
