Title
A resolution requesting emergency assistance from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to install box culverts under Airline Drive at Clayton Pond and Engineers Canal to improve water flow conveyance to enhance Bayou Trepagnier pumping capacity.
Body
WHEREAS, on April 25, 2004, Norco, Louisiana area experienced a rainfall like none before with 12 inches of rain falling in an eight hour time-frame; and,
WHEREAS, on April 25, 2004, over 200 homes and businesses in the Norco, Louisiana area suffered sever devastation from rising flood waters; and,
WHEREAS, box culverts under Airline Drive in Norco would decrease the water level in Clayton Pond and Engineers Canal in the event of another rainfall like April 25, 2004.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request emergency assistance from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to install box culverts under Airline Drive at Clayton Pond and Engineers Canal to improve water flow conveyance to enhance Bayou Trepagnier pumping capacity.
