Title
A resolution supporting the application for funding of the Des Allemands Bulkhead - Phase 2 project through the Louisiana Office of Community Development's FY 2024-2025 Local Government Assistance Program.
Body
WHEREAS, Louisiana Legislature House Bill 2 (Act No. 5) allocated $300,000.00 per parish for the Local Government Assistance Program for fiscal year 2024-2025; and,
WHEREAS, to prevent back water flooding from Bayou Des Allemands during tidal and storm events, the Parish will install a permanent steel sheet pile bulkhead starting at Old US 90 and ending at the BNSF Railroad, which is an activity that is eligible for assistance under the program; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish President and the Department of Public Works requests the Parish Council's support for the application to have this recommended improvement partially funded through the Louisiana Office of Community Development's FY 2024-2025 Local Government Assistance Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby approve and support the application for funding of the Des Allemands Bulkhead - Phase 2 project through the Louisiana Office of Community Development's FY 2024-2025 Local Government Assistance Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said application and to act on behalf of St. Charles Parish in all matters pertaining to this project and subsequent grant award.
The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote; the vote thereon was as follows:
