Body
P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, "National First Responders Day" was first recognized by Congress in 2017, to honor First Responders, including firefighters, police, emergency medical technicians, 911 operators, paramedics, and other emergency personnel and all those who are first on the scene in stressful situations; and,
WHEREAS, First Responders stand on the front lines of our communities, selflessly serving and protecting our citizens in times of crisis; and,
WHEREAS, First Responders respond swiftly and courageously to emergencies, often putting their own lives at risk to ensure the safety and well-being of others, whether in natural disasters, accidents, medical emergencies, or public health and safety threats; and,
WHEREAS, First Responders respond to emergencies without hesitation when the call of duty arises and tirelessly give their time and energy, making themselves available every hour of the day, every day of the year; and,
WHEREAS, "National First Responders Day" is an important day as it reminds us of the sacrifice First Responders face every time they step out onto the front lines. It is a day for them to bask in their heroism when they put others' lives ahead of their own, and get to share the joy with teammates and take a moment to feel appreciated; and,
WHEREAS, the services, dedication and commitment of First Responders deserve to be recognized and honored.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY SUPPORT, RECOGNIZE, AND HONOR ALL OF OUR FIRST RESPONDERS OF ST. CHARLES PARISH ON OCTOBER 28, 2024.
