    IN   RECOGNITION
 
WHEREAS,      Ashlyn M. Falgout is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Destrehan, Louisiana with her parents Coral and Stacie Falgout; and,
WHEREAS,      Ashlyn graduated from Destrehan High School as a 2004 Magna Cum Laude Graduate, she received a Loyola Academic Scholarship & Scholar Award, and the St. Charles Women's Club Scholarship; and,
WHEREAS,      Ashlyn was a Parish, District, & State Young Author's Contest Winner, received a Character Education Award, was a member of Who's Who Among High School Students, was a 2004 Washington D. C. Mardi Gras Ball Princess, and received the Congressional Leadership Award; and,
WHEREAS,      Ashlyn is a freshman attending Loyola University of New Orleans majoring in Communications with a minor in Political Science, and upon completion of her degree she intends to pursue a career in politics; and,
WHEREAS,      on September 25, 2004, Ashlyn participated and won the title of 2004 Louisiana Sugar Queen, competing with 9 contestants from sugar-producing parishes across the state; and,
WHEREAS,      as the 2004 Louisiana Sugar Queen, Ashlyn will attend all state commodities fairs and festivals promoting the sugar industry and will also represent the State at the annual Washington D. C. Mardi Gras Ball.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
ASHLYN M. FALGOUT
2004 LOUISIANA SUGAR QUEEN

 hospitality, rural living and sporting
