Title
A resolution in support of the St. Charles Parish application to the Louisiana Department of State Parks, Division of Outdoor Recreation, for a grant to fund the continued development of Rathborne Park in Luling, Louisiana.
Body
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish is interested in developing additional outdoor recreational facilities at Rathborne Park in Luling, for the enjoyment of the citizenry of said parish and the State of Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, the Rathborne Park Phase III includes the design and construction of additional parking; and,
WHEREAS, all wiring covered in said project, or wiring done in the future onsite, will be placed underground as required by the program; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish is submitting a grant application for funding from the Land and Water Conservation Fund, through the Louisiana Office of State Parks, Division of Outdoor Recreation; and,
WHEREAS, the Land and Water Conservation Fund application requires a resolution of support from the local governing body; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish has obligated cash matching funds of $250,000 in the 2018 Parish Budget to satisfactorily complete the project and thus become eligible for Land and Water Conservation Fund financial aid in the amount of $250,000 or 50% of the total estimated project cost of $500,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby approve and authorize the submission of an application to the Louisiana Office of State Parks, Division of Outdoor Recreation, to seek federal financial assistance for the continued development of Rathborne Park in Luling, Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said application and to act on behalf of St. Charles Parish in all matters pertaining to this project.
